The Twin towers USED to be the tallest building in the world but no more.

The tallest building is the Sears Tower, then Taipei 101 (2nd), then Twin Towers(3rd), then the Empire State building(4th).

Toronto's CN Tower is 1,715' 5" tall, and it's still the world's tallest freestanding structure, but it's mainly a telecommunications tower. There's some commerical and retail space around it's base, a revolving restaurant most of the way up, with an observation deck atop the restaurant. So, structurally, it's not really classed as a building.

I had thought that it was the Petronas Towers, but I may be mistaken.
