Who ever said that Saddams death would gurantee peace?? The question is just silly. Maybe the question should read: Does Saddams death make other evil dictators take notice?

No. The death of Saddam will surely be an 'accomplishment' in the attempt for world peace, but there will always be people who are angered by his death. Iraqi insurgents who have different views on the situation believe that Saddam was a great man. American views show the complete opposite.

I think its gonna bring war and chaos if we execute Saddam right now....I heard it was the start of a Holy Muslim Holiday period and it is a great sin to kill or execute them in their religion. If we start disrupting their Muslim holidays, then the extremest will view it as a sentimental icon has been lost. Muslim Extremists will wage or make their next move to continue the civil unrest that seems to be common now...it could only get worse in Iraq.....I suggests we wait a few days and let the victims of this tyrant decide how to execute him and the people Of Iraq can give Saddam the rightful justice so somewhat deserves...As a western society, we should let the people of Iraq inflict justice and democracy for the sake of their New Sovereign country.

Saddam's death will in no way guarantee peace nor is it intended to. He has simply been tried and found guilty of the mass murders of his fellow citizens. His death is just due payment for the many lives he took.

Nothing guarantees peace. Saddam's death is going to give peace of mind to millions of Iraqi citizens knowing that the butcher of Baghdad is finally gone.

Saddam was the stopper in the bottle, preventing the violence you now see in Iraq. Before we invaded, there was no violence in that country. However, he was a dictator, and he did have secret police that could torture people and make them disappear.
Removing him from office set off the violence; racial and religious hatred that has gone on for 2000 years. His death will be irrelevant to the current violence.

It does not guarantee peace but I do think it is one step among many towards creating democracy across the globe which in turn would help spread a more peaceful existence in the middle east. There will never be 100% peace, there will always be evil and there will always be those who stand up against that evil.

Peace for the Iranians to develop nuclear weapons. His war on Iran set them back 20 years.

Nothing guarantees peace, except Jesus coming back; human beings always seem to be able to find something to fight over(liberals as well as conservatives, I seem to remember us having a couple of fracases(fracii?) in Kosovo and Bosnia on Clinton's watch, so let's not go there.)

No. Actually, it will probably spike violence for a short time. The people that were behind Saddam in Iraq will probably react with violence when they're forced to watch his death. Nothing good comes from killing him off. Actually, if we let him rot in jail, he wouldn't be allowed to become a martyr either.
