You could try easier press ups on your knees. You could buy a chinning bar. They're not too expensive and great for chins in overgrasp and undergrasp (although most people I teach just play around on theirs).

I was told once that a good way to strengthen your muscles for a skill is to practice the skill itself. For example, if your arms aren't strong enough to hold a handstand, you should practice holding handstands against a wall. Hope that helps.

What's the problem with the press ups? You know you can make em easier by putting your weight on your hands and knees instead of feet. Or do em on the stairs or against a wall! Or try lifting yourself with your hands each side of your backside when you're sitting. It's easier too if you do a few of one thing then a few of another then back to the first etc. That way you're working your arms but not straining particular muscles for too long. Could also try borrowing someone's baby for carrying.......that'll get ya strong arms damn fast!

Try lifting weights ,if you don't own any weights then you can start with lifting a can of food and gradually move to something heaver, larger cans and filled dilute juice bottles
