Replace one feeding a day with regular food. Even if he doesn't want it, offer it to him. If he doesn't eat then he doesn't eat but he will eat eventually.

After he gets used to eating regular food, you can start replacing 2 feedings a day. Then as time goes on he'll quit breastfeeding altogether.

Maybe get him a sippy cup with his favorite cartoon on it like Elmo. Maybe get him a special plate with his favorite cartoon on it as well. This will get him excited about eating real food.

Don't let these people upset you. Many children that are breastfed, want nothing to do with solid foods. If you really want to wean, then do not offer the breast during one meal (do not make it before or after he sleeps though). But for the one meal you start taking away the breast, replace with food. He'll eventually get the idea, and then you can take off another. He'll know he's hungry and will decided what is more important for himself.

Haven't you introduced food yet? Introduce and the gradually feed him more food while reducing the frequency of breastfeeding. That is what we did with our son (he is not weaned yet but he no longer depends on it for meals).
La Leche League or Kellymom.com is loaded with advice for weaning.

gradually give him a bottle and/or sippie cup instead of breastfeeding. By one he should be eating quite a bit of food by now.
