by a pencil? Think about it...one pencil with the right person can create a story, many poems, create breathtaking art, etc, etc One pencil.

Ahhhh... I love your take on things. The only amazement that pencils continually give me is their ability to disappear in my classroom. I think the kids eat them, actually. It is a challenge some days to keep that pencil jar filled... hey! perhaps they are sneaking off to write poems and such... I don't know.

Personally, I have a thing for hands. My hands are capable of so much... they make rattles and drums, sew and cook, soothe and excite. I associate learning with hands... one of my clearest mental pictures is my grandmother's tiny hands kneading a large quantity of bread dough. There is so much potential... and hands tell such stories. I like hands with character... hands that 'do'. The perfect manicure does not say so much...

i love pencils..different sizes, shapes, types of lead..and you're right..a pencil in the right hand can be wondrous

Actually, yes....I have. I always thought I was strange for feeling that way but it would seem that I'm not alone in this amazement or else you wouldn't have thought to ask the question.
