I am interested in investing in Daihatsu Motors, but it is difficult to find a lot of information on it. I only found a basic chart on it and today's price. I found the company's website too. Can anyone find its p/e and other key statistics? Yahoo! Finance only gives its pice.

The site you gave me gives the p/e and lot's of other information. However, it appears that it hasn't been updated since December 18, 2006.

Also, what do you think of this company. If the p/e is only 15 like the site shows, it looks like it could be a good buy.

It does appear that they are a great company from the information that I've seen. I know that they've been taking Market Share from Toyota and Honda in Japan.

You can go here and click on 'key ratios' under 'related resources'. Also google for the ticker symbol DHMTF, rather than the name, for other sites.

ok, this was kinda difficult. i found out they have about 427 million outstanding shares, net profit of 11.22 billion yen for the 1st half of fiscal 2006-which is $94.2 million at the current exchange rate, which comes out to about $0.22 per share. current price of the stock on the pinksheets is $8.45 per share which gives us a p/e of about 19 since this is for six months. this might not be perfectly accurate since i'm not an accountant, but it should be pretty close. daihatsu's website had good info in investor relations and pinksheets also had a little info to offer. hope this helps

i see that a p/e of 15 was reported somewhere. guess i miscalculated due to some info i couldn't find, like preferred dividends or something. oh well. i got pretty close. it doesn't look like a bad investment at all. they're having a good year so far.
