You can either hold down the Play/Pause button or go to Settings > Main Menu > then scroll to the bottom and turn on "Sleep". Now this button will be in your menu, and you can turn your iPod off by pressing this.

You can either hold the bottom "Play" button for 3 seconds, or you can go into your settings and click on Main Menu in the Main Menu settings, scroll all the way to the bottom, and you will see "Sleep" is off click on that, and then hold menu for three seconds. You will be back at your main menu and from now on all you have to do to turn it off is click on "Sleep"

hold down the play pause button. if that doesnt work, hold the menu button and the circle button to restart your ipod, then repeat the first step.

hold the play/pause button for a couple of seconds and it will turn off. to turn on push any button.
