i bought a semi formal dress the other day. its a dark blue color with glitter. i found some really cute silver wrap up shoes (the ribbon is silver). i was thinkin of the shoes with the dress and then adding a silver clutch. does it go together ok?

It will go fine, but I think you'll look more dramatic if you don't wear all "cool colors". Blue and silver are really closely related colors and so I think it would be more fun if you played with other colors. If your blue-colored dress is really bright, then I would go for an elegant bone colored clutch with a dull cranberry type shoe. Or if it's a darker, less vibrant color, kick things up a notch with a brighter red or some other way of introducing warmer colors.
