I am near 40 and when we were kids we played the usual kickball, tag, rode bikes, some of us had skates or scooters. We played with barbies, but only one friend I had, had a barbie townhouse. I used a plastic bowl for a barbie pool. We also would get pails of water an "paint" with old paintbrushes on the sidewalk and chalk for the side walk, only white, was a great treat. We had a spirograph and a etch a sketch. My sister also taught me to play Monoploly where whoever runs out of money first wins. I found out later in life that was really not how Monopoly works. She did that so it wouldn't drag on forever and I would at least play. We had pong, but our mother would time us for only 30 minutes of play "Because it would burn into the screen!" So what games or activities did you play that kids now days would laugh at?

Remember Mouse Trap? I loved that game. I went to find it and now it's not as exciting, but I am older and less excitable. Also, the lemon that you attached to your ankle and spun around with your leg and jumped over-hopscotch, tinikling, Big Wheels, Stretch Armstrong, marbles....wow-thanks for the walk down memory lane.

I am 43 and we used to play red rover, hide and seek, truth or dare, dodge ball, red light- green light, we even had the good old mini bikes that if you weren't careful you would end up with a major muffler burn on your leg. I know because I had one:). We also played Life, old maid, monopoly, milles borne which is a driving game of cards where you end up seeing who can get there the quickest, water works you made a pipeline and tried to keep it going until you didn't have any more cards to play. there is really too many cool games we played. I was raised without a TV so we did bible drills, pantomimes etc we amused ourselves and had a lot of fun.

When I was real young we played "house." We also played red-light-green-light, tag, sports, we had tree climbing contests (I always lost), manhunt, we had a clubhouse, we maid bracelets from lanyard(sp?). I am 26. I have a 13 year old sister who has grown up thinking that stuff is lame. She does video games, instant messaging, and trips to the mall.

A counting game I learned in kindergarten. Played between two people, the object is to be the person who gets to say the number 20. Each person takes turns counting off by saying either one or two numbers in sequence from one to 20.
Example: The first person says, "One, two."
The second person says, "Three, four."
1: "Five, six."
2: "Seven."
1: "Eight, nine"
2: "Ten, eleven."
1: "Twelve, thirteen."
2: "Fourteen, fifteen."
1: "Sixteen, seventeen."
2: "Eighteen."
1: "Nineteen, twenty. I win"
Person 1 would win because he made it to twenty first.
