Most of by-the-Qur'an viewpoints were that Saddam was not a good Muslim. Osama hated him, Saudi Arabia hated him, ect. He attacked other Muslim nations (Iran, Kuwait, eventually Saudi). He murdered tons of Muslims. He was quite a secular leader.

However, in his days at the trial he carried the Qur'an, prayed, and referred to Allah more times then he ever did as President. It was pretty obvious he was playing the victim/matyr.

We will see how much of that the Muslim world buys.

saddam hussein is a martyr already.he has been unjustly imprisonned by the us millitary and not given a fair trial.yes he is a bad personn no doubt but everyone is entitled to a fair trial.he shouldve been tried by the war crimes court in hague(europe)..i equal saddam and his crimes to slobodan milosovich,he had a fair trial why cant saddam be tried by the war crimes court there just like him?no the u.s millitary unfairly and unjustly kept him in custody ..hypocricy at its best thats america for you.i dont hate america at all for getting rid of him from power but seriously get out of the quagmire that iraq has become and bring the soldiers home...let the people of iraq deal with themselves..if saddam is hanged tommorow which by the way is a holy day (EID AL ADHA) well believe me he will be viewed as a martyr worldwide ..does such a horrible man deserves that?hang him and see...try him justly let him have a fair trial and be found guilty fairly then hang him thats what shouldve been done..bush what an idiot..

Considering he was a secular leader, I doubt it. HIs supporters, regardless of their faith, will view him that way.

One of the Saddam's former government officials, Tariq Aziz, is a Christian.
