relax! dont be so paranoid... it really is all right... it wont hurt a bit... and ummmm how much did you say you have???

sorry couldnt resist that... but on the serious side of things you could see a lawyer and enquire about having your savings protected from the person/s who are trying to get a hold of them so even if you do become insane at any time or othewise incapacitated they can not legally get a hold of your finances. you could also elect a power of attorney for someone who you do completely trust and have it legally stated that should you become incapacitated that person or organisation has the legal right to take care of your finances for you.

I would think that one thing you could do is this: On your own, and without telling anyone, find a psychiatrist who will see you and evaluate you and write a report that says you are not insane.

The reason I say not to tell anyone is so that other people won't be calling the doctor and telling him/her stuff about you that isn't true.

You should also probably try to find an attorney who will talk to you for a half hour or so without charging you (maybe there's an attorney through a referral service or through legal services), and tell you what you need to do next. Ask the attorney what you can do to protect your savings and keep it out of the hands of others too.

If you are the one to find your own doctor and find your own lawyer, you'll know they are working for you. Tell them your situation, and they'll be the ones who can help you.

Is there any chance your family member is worried about you (even if he or she doesn't need to be) and isn't really trying to get your savings? Sometimes family members worry over nothing and honestly believe someone has mental health problems, but they may not be trying to get your money. An attorney can help you find out if the family member is really after your money or is just worried about you.

Just try to remember that if you feel you can't trust your family or friends you cannot go through this alone, and you need to decide to trust a doctor and an attorney. You're in a scary situation and need a couple of people who will be on your side.

Have a list of signed, what do you call it? affirmations of character - meaning people who writer letters declaring your character and personality and if you can get them all notarized just incase it gets to court. What the person most likely wants to do is to defame you, make you look like your marbles are gone and that may be a good defense.
