My husband had a lump in his neck which was quite small. He had a biopsy and it seemed to get a little bigger after that. Yesterday he had a CT scan and they injected a dye into him and now the lump has doubled in size. Is this usual or are we worrying unnecessarily. They told us the GP would give us the results.

It is unlikely that the dye used in the scan can cause the lump to get bigger.
The scan report should be ready in a few days. It might be available on their (GP) computer.
If you do not hear from your GP soon, rebook an appointment. Sometimes the biopsy process itself can cause bleeding into the lump making it bigger. You are probably worried about it being sinister etc. The only way is to wait and see, and not try to second guess the system. I had an MRI scan recently, which is similar to a CTscan. They thought i had a brain tumour. I had a repeat scan with a dye and it showed that infact there is nothing there. You shoul get another appointment with the Gp, using the lump size as a reason. The GP can then chase the CT / biopsy report. Unfortunatley , the festive season may slow things a litte bit in the NHS.

If the dye was injected into his body it shouldnt make the lump bigger. If the lump itself was injected then its likely to get bigger. If its the first option I would see your GP as soon as you can;

Get an appointment to see GP as soon as possible do not wait for them to call you. It may be nothing but he will probably need antibiotics.

If it were me I would call the GP. You have the entire weekend to go through. I am not a physician but that doesn't sound normal?.?.?.

I wou;d think that the Hospital would have said , there and
then if there appeared to be a problem, however, why did'nt you
ask them, insist, its your body.... if you really feel upset, go up to
th A & E department of your Hospital and get results !! ..
good luck..
