I mean why do they have to hang him?
Since when the fu*k did the world start hanging 70 year old men.
this is hipocracy man, the puppet iraqi government gets its main support from the mahdi army, who kills thousands of sunnis all the time. Other leaders killed way more people than samman, mao zedong, stalin, and bush has shed more iraqi blood than saddam ever did, so whats the problem. this is stupid man, the US came to overthrow a dictatorship, but the shiite government, wants a theoracy like iran, and they want that killer militia leader Al Sadr, as their top cleric. And Bush is the one who caused a civil war, and if the troops leave thousands more will die, whereas Saddam kept it all under control, he may have killed, but that happens all over the world, Pakistan, india, China, Russia its what leaders got to do to maintain govt control. what u ppl think? shoudnt he get pardon?

"Why not plead your bleeding-heart liberal case to the families of all the tortured and killed Iraqis ?!? Hmmmmm !!
You won't cause you'd be dead . Have a nice day sir !!! "
Liberal WTF im from Pakistan, and my uncles a corrupt politian, so no1 can tell you better than i can, that killing, and lying is a part of their job, in developing countries it happens all the time. What saddam hussain did was no different than what Musharraf did, in the tribal areas, of pakistan. Hundreds died, but the only difference i guess is that he had the approval of the US.

I think that capital punishment is hypotcritical. If someone murders somebody, it is not right to punish the person by committing the same act on him or her.
I have heard that Saddam Hussein was very cruel, and that he executed someone by ordering him to be put through a shredder feet first so he would suffer for longer. I am not sure if the piece of information was true.
It is easier to be removed from the issue if one has not experienced personal losses because of Saddam Hussein.
However, it strikes me as no coincidence that his execution is being planned for Eid ul-Adha, a major Muslim holy day, otherwise known as the Feast of the Sacrifice. Is watching Saddam Hussein being executed in graphic style really what the Iraqis and the Americans should be getting as "compensation" for the "sacrifice" of all the lives in Iraq? I am referring to the Iraqis who have died as a result of George W. Bush's interference in Iraq as well as the Americans whose lives have been lost. Undoubtedly, a mixed reaction from the Iraqis and Muslims can be anticipated.
I think that both George W. Bush and Saddam Hussein should be kept alive. They need extra time in order to come to a realization of all the evil they have done.
I do not like the American style of execution through capital punishment. One bad hypocrisy is execution through shooting. A number of gunmen are lined up and only one gun has the potentially fatal bullet. The gunmen are not told which one has it. In this way they can live with the thought that they themselves might not be the killers. Their conciences presumably are appeased through this action. However, to the extent that they are all willing participants in the killing setup, they all are killers. The fact that their consciences must be appeased tells me that they know it is wrong.

No he abused his people with violence and torture. If he were allowed to live, his Sunni supporters would create a movement to have him return to power and through that get their preferential treatment back. No government would have even a chance to work then. I don't think the war is well advised and yes, it thew a monkey wrench into the Middle East, but Saddam deserves to die, and quickly for his role in the gassing of the unarmed Kurds if nothing else.
He should be shown the same mercy he showed the people who went into his jails and never came out At least he won't be tortured first as he did to anyone he considered his enemy.

I feel very sorry for the United States. Why? Because we started this. People in the Middle East live according to their culture. No one, including Bush of course, has the power and influence to force westernized "democracy" on any other country. When will people realize that Iraq, Russia, Afghanistan, etc. ARE NOT offshoots of the United States. Our interference has only brought about pure hatred from other countries. I said it right after 911 and I willl say it again. Instead of putting our noses in the business of other countries, we would have better used our troops to protect our borders and our air space.
(U.S. citizens do not really care about Iraqis OR their families)

Saddam is a VERY evil man. No, he should not receive a pardon but I d not think he should be executed. He should, however, spend the rest of his life in a prison just like the ones he sent people to. He should receive no better treatment than he gave out.

I don't feel sorry for him. He DID kill all those people
but he shouldn't die. Just think of all the people America has killed.
No ones being hung over here. And think of all the people in war killing, they don't get hung. AND so what if its war. That doesn't make it ok just to kill people. If every one that has killed some one was to be hung, we would lose ALOT of people in the worl.

Thousands of people died as a result of Saddam's evil, so , no sympathy here. As for you why don't you move to the middle East since you're so in sympathy with them?

Saddam is the end result of dysfunctional parenting in a form of society where violence is a fact of life.
For that, I do feel sorry for him.
But, he didn't unconciously act to gas his own people or invade Kuwait or have death squads or intimidate and jail dissidents. That far outweighs the sympathy I fell for him.

I think that hanging is actually too good for him. It should be a slower and more painful death. SLOW AND PAINFUL! Yes all you bleeding heart liberal human rights morons...IT SHOULD HURT...A LOT! I do not thing we do enough in the line of cap punishment. I think we should get rid of more criminals. What makes you think they deserve to live? Let whatever god you believe in judge them.
