i know the sats and i just took the psats as a sophmore but what are acts

ACT is just another standardized test colleges use to rank their applicants. Think of it as the alternative to taking the SATs. The letters don't stand for anything anymore, just like the SAT.

Some colleges only take the SAT, some only the ACT, some will take either.
