I always started my new package of pills on the first Sunday after my period. Now, when you start you have 10 days where you need to use another form of birth control (condom). If she was taking her pills, got her period, and started a new package right away, I wouldn't worry.
If she's new to birth control and you didn't use another form of birch control in the first 10 days there is a good possibility. However, after their period most women don't ovulate until 14 days. So, there's a chance there but take a test to be sure!
Good luck!

At least you said you're married, which is way better than asking this if you're 15.
Typically, they'll say to give it a month (or one whole cycle) to get to maximum effectiveness before having unprotected sex. Granted, one time is really all it takes, but you have a better chance of getting away with it than not. If her cycle doesn't start when it should (you'll know for sure with the pills, usually a 2 or 3 days into the sugar pills), then have her wait and take a test before starting her next pill pack. If she does end up pg, you don't want her continuing to take the pills.
Good luck.

I take Yazmin. If she started the pills on a Sunday (sunday starter) then she should use another type of protection for atleast 7 days. I f she started the pills at the beginning of her period then she will not need a backup. Since there are more than 7 days between the 15th and the 24h you should be fine. But remember birth control is not 1005 accurate.

You're supposed to start taking birth control the Sunday after you start your period (that's what my gyno told me) For example, if you started your period on a Thursday, take it Sunday, but if you start on Sunday you can either take it that day or wait till the following Sunday- the choice is yours. I think they say that just to keep track of when you take it... anyways...
You should be on the pill for AT LEAST 2 weeks before you start trying to have unprotected sex, and if she was ovulating at the time of the unprotected sex, she might become pregnant... but you never know... if you're nervous, then wait a few days and get a pregnancy test. There are some tests that can be used days before her missed period.
Good Luck!

typically the pill manufacturers suggest to use alternative protection during the first month of using the pills. This does not mean at all that pregnancy is a sure thing, but it's not completely ruled out. There should be an insert with your girlfriend's pills that refers to this. Your options would be to use a Plan B pill or to watch the situation.

generally at least a couple of weeks with most pills...not to make you panic, but me and my fiance had unprotected sex once...i now have a 2.5 week old beautiful baby girl. congrats on the marriage and hopefully things work out the way that you want.
by the way, its always the best idea to use two methods of birth control. even though you are married now, the pill AND a condom is always the best protection. theres always that fall-back if something goes wrong with one of the methods.
