It's obviously way too early to make a qualified opinion, but based on recruiting classes of the last three years, USC and Texas are well-positioned to make a run. Both have had Top 15 recruiting classes for three years in a row. So have Georgia and Florida, but Georgia and Florida are both in the SEC, which means only one could conceivably be undefeated after the regular season & the SEC is a tough division anyway. USC and Texas have a few teams within their divisions that could knock them off (Cal, Oregon; Texas A&M, Oklahoma, etc.), but are in generally easier conferences than the SEC. Big Ten teams like Ohio State and Michigan have a shot as well, although depending on what rankings you look at, their recruiting classes have been Top 15 but not Top 5.

However, this year's recruiting class isn't even near completion yet & we may see some true freshmen making impacts on the field. Regardless, I'd say that Texas and USC are very well-positioned for a run at the title based mainly on early evaluations of the talent on their rosters.

Texas, with a healthy and more experienced Colt McCoy, stands a good chance.

Cal, of course. ;-)

Now that I've put down the bong and set aside delusions of my alma mater winning it all, I think Michigan will go all the way next year.

Michigan. They will have a lot coming back and a score to settle.
