anger on a personal level, can destroy our relationships with the people we value the most, and keeps our mind bound in spirals of misery.
As powerful the negative state of anger is, it lacks any material substance whatsoever. When we look into our own minds & hearts and under
stand this disturbing mental/emotional state better, we will realize angers unrealistic projec
tion and thus will not buy into its story so readily.
We will gradually be able to distance ourselves
from this distructive Painful mental/emotional state Without suppressing, repressing, or
expressing it. We will replace it with much more
Wholesome and Beneficial states of mind, and
in this way, Patience, tolerance, love, and
compassion will grow within us. We also culti
vate a deep sense of who we really are !!

No, I don't think anger is productive itself but we can control that anger, although some people have help in doing so, to be productive. I think it's not what happens but how we handle it that defines us as people. For instance, when I feel angry I write about it. It's all in the way you let it out, and you have to in some way or another or it ends up destroying you on the inside. As far as getting rid of anger altogether, I think there's a balance in life. Without knowing what anger is, how would you know what happiness is?

Anger is productive in a sense if you use it as a tool, to take all that energy and focus on something more useful. It also is part of a healing process. Sometimes showing anger within limits can change other people's views. If you never get angry at things people do to you that you do not like for instance, it will do more harm. It can be very situational and a thin line to how you appraoch it.
I for one when I get angry, depending on why, get VERY motivated to change that one thing that is causing it...either I get it out of my life or I work with it....so very situational.
Explosive anger is NOT healthy at all....very toxic to the body as well. It has been shown that when we are happy, our body is more likely to fight off colds and such. Angry people that I know are ALWAYS sick.....making them more miserable...but again it's a decision we all make right?
Happy New Year

Anger is often a result of impulse. We naturally seek to defend ourselves when we feel threatened by some external source. I do agree with you, however, in that it is not productive from a social perspective. There are many better alternatives, but one needs to practice some form of metacognition in order to understand and analyze themselves so that a better course of action can be pursued.

Anger when controlled can be a powerful tool.

It gives you the strength/ perseverance to complete the task at hand when you might not be able to continue otherwise.

Anger when out of control causes you to behave rashly and without thought to the consequences of your actions.

Anger is and of itself isn't incorrect. It can provide an capability point that few different thoughts do. this is what we do with that capability that determines its 'good or undesirable' effect. each and every each and every now and then we would desire to get indignant to do away with a unfavorable impact.

Anger can be useful because it can motivate someone.

Anger helps people by notifying a person that their rights have just been violated and motivates people to do something to improve their situations.

Example: Jenna stole Amanda's coat. Amanda gets angry upon discovering her coat is gone. Amanda is motivated to get her coat back/seeek justice.

Example: Jenna stole Amanda's coat. Amanda doesn't get angry. Amanda was going to look into getting her coat back but forgets to because she doesn't have a strong emotion to motivate her.
