What about all of these traffic violations that seem to be forgotten about? I really get tired of moving over to find some idiot speeding up to go around me on the right side. Often the left lane is open and they just choose the right side instead. Methinks I might start being really rude to these folks....maybe not.

Yes, it is still illegal to pass on the right. There are a few exceptions such as on Interestate Highways or multi-lane highways where more than one lane of traffic is travelling in the same direction. Ohio enforces the law --keep right except to pass. Several other states have also been enforcing this law more than in the past. I believe Illinois, last year, passed, or tried to pass a distance in left lane law. If you are in the left lane for more than a certain number of feet with the right lane clear, you can be ticketed. I don't remember the number or the actual name of the law. I doubt even the police know all the laws that are passed.
