I went to the doc today I'm a few days shy of 37 weeks. I'm 2 cm dilated, 90%effaced, and he said my baby is at station 0. I just didnt understand what the station zero meant. I tried asking but he was in a hurry he had to go deliver a baby (yeah like thats more important, haha j/k). All he said was she's low and in position.

It's station is where the baby is positioned relative to the opening of your pubic bone towards the vagina. 0 station means the baby is directly at this level. minus numbers (-1, -2 etc) represent how many centimeters the baby is above this opening (meaning further away from the vagina) and plus numbers are below the opening. The baby will be crowning around +3.

Negative station means above your cervix, 0 is there and plus station like +2 is 2 cm below or dropped down from your cervix. During pre-labor your cervix thins considerably and the baby drops. +4 is basically when your baby is ready to be born.

Sounds like you are really close. The stations are like 2, 1, 0, -1, -2 the lower the number the further the baby has progressed. With you already dialating and being 90% effaced it sounds like you are really close!! Good Luck!!

The station is where the baby is located in your pelvis bones. If she is high she will be at a + station (1 2 3 etc) if she is at 0 then she is starting to drop. When she gets into the - (minus) station is when you are in labor and the contractions are opening your cervic. If you are ever worried and your dr does not have time to answer ask to speak to one of his partners or his nurses. They can help too. Good luck. Sounds like you are almost there.
