Check with you HR, insurance or benefits administrator. I was a teacher and did not qualify for disability even though I had high blood pressure and put on bed rest but I did qualify for leave under the family leave act.

If your work has Short term disability then you can collect that, but being pregnant is not a disability. You cannot collect. Sorry you will need to get a job like the rest of us.

Disability is not the same as the Family Leave Act. The government does not pay you to be pregnant, and neither does the Family Leave Act. A company you work for may offer paid leave, but that's all you get, and they expect you to come back to work. There is no free ride, and if you take it you better well need it.

You should contact your HR department.
YES, you can go on disability for maternity leave. Thats what I have to do with my company. Unfortunately, I'm still in my first trimester, so I haven't done all the research yet. Otherwise I'd be able to help you out a little more.

the only thing that i have heard of as far as pregnancy and disability being linked is through individual employers. i do not believe that the government offers disability for pregnancy. there are plenty of programs to support pregnant moms and their children through insurance and emotional support. i would ask your employer if pregnancy falls under their disability category. good luck!! :)

Pregnancy is not usually considered a disability - UNLESS you have developed a physical/mental disease or disorder that in itself qualifies a disabling condition. In that case you need to go to your local SSI or SSDI office

If you are low-income, you could be eligable for medicaid which will pay for everything. Is that what you mean? You can fill out the paperwork at the hospital where you will be delivering. Good luck...
