iam using dialup and my os win98 . i want to share my both pc and run internet. how to do it

You will need to install ethernet cards into each computer and use a crossover cable to connect them together.

It gets a little technical after that. you have to give each its own IP address, such as 192.168.0.100 for one computer and 192.168.0.101 to the other computer and put them on the same subnet like 255.255.255.0.

Since there is no internet connection sharing built into win98 you will then have to download ics for win98 from microsoft, if they still offer it, or use a proxy software like wingate.

Or an easier way is to purchase an ethernet hub/switch that can handle NAT via a built in DHCP server, but you still need to enable ICS in the computer with the modem.

It would be alot easier if you were using XP Home or if you got DSL/Cable and used a router to do your internet connection sharing automatically

Create a network, and then one computer will connect to internet and the other would connect trough the first one

i bought a router and connected my 2 computers, i'm not dial-up (high speed cable modem) but i think it will work.
