As a child this word always confused me. How does someone explain what "respect" is?

Respect....seems to me that when you respect someone you admire how they live and want to emulate that behavior....When you respect someone you give proper due to their opinions and consider what they say as being important....

You have to respect the child and be respected by others.

accepting the individual differences among people. this would include unconditional acceptance of their: religious beliefs, sexual orientation, economic status, morals and values, personality, race, educational level, etc.
