I am always looking for new singers/bands. Any suggestions for a singer/band that writes their own lyrics, has honest lyrics, and the singer has a rich, non-nausaly, non-whiney voice. It doesn't matter if they're famous, on-the-verge, or not famous yet.
If it helps, one of my favorite bands is Dashboard Confessional.

The Spicy Monkeys they have one really good song and they are a great preteen group. look for their stuff

She writes all her own songs, and has such a rich, powerful voice it gives me chills!!! She sings at local bars and clubs along the Mississippi gulf coast, and hopefully it's only a matter of time!!

The Hush Sound is one really good band. The two leading vocals have unique voices. go check them out,they deserve the recognition.

It's not new, but it's worth it!
Jeff Buckley's Grace is one of the best albums of all time for me...
He wrote his songs & covered others' songs in an amazing way.
If I had to describe his music, I wouldn't say rock, pop, blues or jazz (he had all of these influences), but HONEST.
& his voice... Ahhhh! Magnificent, mesmerizing, angel-like...
