yes, if you're in the fashion industry but in everyday life, I don't think so... I used to work for a fashion company, and during my short duration there (not happy with the job) I've never seen my co workers eat, but they are still chubby, so-- I don't know what's the point... I used to be a XXS, but have grown to be a 0, I think I look better now then before. Cheers to healthy looking people!

Well, don't compare your friends to the celebs. Rather than think they make your already skinny friends look overweight, just remember that many of those so called celebs are severely underweight.
I'm a size 8, I must be an obese whale compared to those celebs, but I know that I am a healthy weight and they are not. It's as simple as that.
HTH : )

To think a size 4 is big by comparing her to others is outrageous!. Style is what you make it anyway, and I am so sick and tired of always feeling like I have to be thin to fit in and be popular and get anywhere in this world. I love the fact that in Spain you have to have a BMI of at least 18 to model on the runway. Any why that is still very thin you can have a lower BMI in the USA and model which is all the size zero stick figures out there. I am by no means big I too am a 4 but I do not have to compare myself to others to be "in style"!!!

Wow, if someones a 4 and they think they're fat....thats a problem. I think people should stop listening to what the media has to say and start accepting who they are as individuals. Personally, I feel a healthy body with curves is beautiful but many others would think the opposite. Thin is in (in Hollywood) but you don't have to agree with it. I think some of these women on the red carpet look like they're starving themselves- not pretty at all!

Marketers and businesses have successfully created supposed insecurities in some women and they are making big bucks. There is a whole new line of "healthy" products out there. And some other products and services such as the cosmetic surgery industry.
Materialsim and consumerism is to be blamed. Most people in this society that we live have become very absurd, selfish and emotionally corrupt.

Why is everyone obsessed with numbers?
My sister was a size 0 when she was going through chemotherapy...she looked anorexic.
I'm 5'8 and 140lbs. People look at the number and say, "Wow! That's huge!" But you know what...I'm 5'8, not 5'2. I'm curvy with a big chest and a firm build. I have practically no fat, but when people hear that I am a size 8 they think that is giant. When people look at me, they think I am very thin.
People have no idea about weight/height ratios.

It's in at the moment, but eventually, within the next few years, it'll be out, because there's a limit to how thin you can get before you get sick. I'm a size one, and compared to a lot of celebs I'm pretty chubby.

Thin is in for teh retarded celebrities. But most people want to see more curvy models.
Natural looking women are more attractice then seeing a person who can barely stand up on their own and ther faces are sinking in.
There is nothing wrong with trying to get maybe more fit but tell ur friend that soon enough people will see that thin i NOT in.

One of the many problems with the media...girls need to be taught as teens to disregard the horrible body image portrayed everywhere!

Your friend is fine. It's funny how people can be so obsessed about weight even though they do not have a weight problem at all
