Here's the Song for **U**
Artist: Eric Clapton Lyrics
Song: Layla Lyrics

What'll you do when you get lonely
And nobody's waiting by your side?
You've been running and hiding much too long.
You know it's just your foolish pride.

Layla, you've got me on my knees.
Layla, I'm begging, darling please.
Layla, darling won't you ease my worried mind.

I tried to give you consolation
When your old man had let you down.
Like a fool, I fell in love with you,
Turned my whole world upside down.

Chorus

Let's make the best of the situation
Before I finally go insane.
Please don't say we'll never find a way
And tell me all my love's in vain.

Chorus

Chorus

The source for Layla was Clapton's personal life: he had fallen in love with Pattie Boyd, the wife of his friend George Harrison. Not even heroin, which Clapton had then begun to use, could dull the pain. Dave Marsh, in The Rolling Stone Illustrated History of Rock and Roll, wrote that "there are few moments in the repertoire of recorded rock where a singer or writer has reached so deeply into himself that the effect of hearing them is akin to witnessing a murder, or a suicide... to me, 'Layla' is the greatest of them."

Great Song..thanks.

Its about Clapton being in love with Pattie Boyd, a model who was married to George Harrison ( out of the Beatles ) at the time.

The song was based on Clapton's unrequited love for Pattie Boyd, the wife of his friend George Harrison.

Just read the lyrics, you will know it yourself:

Whatll you do when you get lonely
No one waiting by your side?
Youve been running and hiding much too long.
You know its just your foolish pride.

Layla, youve got me on my knees.
Layla, Im begging, darling please.
Layla, darling wont you ease my worried mind.

I tried to give you consolation
When your old man had let you down.
Like a fool, I fell in love with you,
Turned my whole world upside down.

Lets make the best of the situation
Before I finally go insane.
Please dont say well never find a way
And tell me all my loves in vain.

It's about a girl named Layla that he is in love with that is going to leave him. He talks about who will be there to console you, who will be waiting for you? And then he says he tried to console her when her father would let her down and like a fool he fell in love with her.

I think it's about a woman that he loves or lusts, that he really wants to be with but maybe she doesn't return his feelings. I don't really know or care, Layla rocks!

It's about his love affair with Harrison's wife.. They used Layla as her code name so to speak..
