Well, it all depends on the reason she was divorced. Either way, "tainted" isn't quite the right term because that word had a feel that she is contagious or had a disease that couldn't be cured. How cruel of her co-workers! I think what I would look at when people divorce is whether it was a good reason or bad reason. Good reason? (abuse/infidelity/neglect) or Bad Reason? (pettiness/selfishness etc) The reasons behind a divorce say alot about the people and how able they are to commit and take vows seriously. If she had a good reason to divorce, she will be seen as smart to get out and just really unlucky. If there reason to divorce was a bad one, then it just limits her future prospects with men who want someone truly able to commit and give themselves to another person fully. No matter what, she works with some pretty petty people!

I guess that all depends on what they meant by "tainted goods". I know divorce causes a lot of emotional baggage but that usually happens more than just because of the divorce but the circumstances surrounding the divorce. If that's what they meant, although it's cruel to say, it's true. Does that make them a bad person, NO WAY! Just some extra emotional baggage to lug around and into the next relationship.

They got it all wrong. Divorced and hot to trot is the saying, this crap about tainted goods is from snobs. Most men are hot for divorced women, because they want sex, and nothing but sex without all the drama. They are also more mature and are not looking for love. Most come from a marriage where they got little (sex) at home from their spouse. Now that they are free, they just want to have fun To see what's it like to be single. Some go wild just to get back at the cheater they married.

I do not agree with this but I know some people do. I had a guy date me and he told me that he was breaking his own rule because he never dates divorced people. On the other hand, if I meet someone who has never been married and they are over 40, I wonder what phobias they must have. Nothing is more obnoxious than a couple who is married a long time and think they are superior. A lot of it has to do with luck and in some cases no balls to leave.

I would be less likely to date them, because they couldn't do it right the first time. I can see maybe a few circumstances(only if he abused her or he cheated) where I may date them, but I would take it a lot slower. Especially, if she says that she didn't love him anymore(they didn't love each other). That means she will get married and divorced throughout her life, because she's not in it for the long run and runs away from her problems.

Disagree. With more than 50% of marriages ending in divorce, it goes to say that many good people get divorced.

No I think everything happen for a reason even if we don't know why. There is a reason her marriage didn't work out and know it was time to move on. She is the same person now as she was marriage. Some times people really need to think before they saying something.
