Mine would have to be Final Fantasy 12 simply because it went against the original final fantasy formula and strived to do something differnet. Plus, there are no more random battles and it's the most beautiful Final Fantasy yet.

Final Fantasy III for SNES game,e was great, It was a great ice breaker for the series it explained everything you needed to know about the final fantasy world and the characters were amazing up to like 20 different people to chose from it was crazy. I still enjoy playing that game, it started the fighting techniques characters like 1 guy could use a technique called blitz, to just beat down opponents.

The whole series is pretty much amazing, have been hooked on it for life, but overall my favourite would have to be Final Fantasy VIII, mainly becuase of the originality, story line, and possibly the best secondary character ever (Zell Dinchet), but as with everyone else this is just my opinion

Final Fantasy Tactics Or Chocobos Dungeon.
The normal series is good i like 7..i have played all of them and i dont know why do many people dont like 9...i did. I like 10 and Crystal Chronicals. Didnt like 8 and dont consider 11 properly Final Fantasy.
Really looking forward to the new Tactics game.

meh, the other answers are good,but i will have to disagree with their opinions. I happen to like VIII the best since despite the fact the hero is somewhat of a wimp. In an age where graphics really can only get so good, VIII set itself apart by having a great storyline that actually made some sense once you put the peices together, not to mention the fact that the story was actually finished unlike VII's.

VII - Without a doubt
All final fantasy games have novel gameplay, involved storylines etc but VII has the hero who is most fun to play. Too many of the other games have whiny little boys (or girls) as the hero and I feel embarassed to control them.

FFX. The aeons where incredible. Anima? was the most kick @$$ of the whole game. The fact there were no levels but you had to use a sphere grid to build them to be however you want. I love the story twist where you know who disappears. The characters were easy to like and very envoled with each other. I want some romance stuff in my huge story games. Everyone FFXII just went there own way.

the first one for the NES
first time i ever played an RPG an it was awesome.Different.And some of the characters have made appearances in every game!!
FF never really hit it big till VII but im a die hard fan and have everysingle one apart from XII :( but thats on my shopping list
