My bad, I meant to say best center

yo, Mr. Clutch, everyone knows about Mr. Triple Double, Oscar Robertson.
My question was about centers, Oscar Robertson may have been one of the all time greatest players, but he was a small forward for his primary position.

YOU CAN USE MY SYSTEM. POWER RATING = POINTS + REBOUNDS + ASSISTS
I HAVE USED THIS METHOD TO RATE PLAYERS AND SETTLE ARGUMENTS/DISCUSSIONS. THIS SYSTEM IS OBJECTIVE.

CHAMBERLAIN - 30.1 + 22.9 + 4.4 = 57.4
RUSSELL --------- 15.1 + 22.1 + 4.3 = 41.5
KAREEM ---------- 24.6 + 11.2 + 3.6 = 39.4

YOU CAN TWEAK THIS SYSTEM BY ADDING ASSISTS-NBA-REBOUND/SCORING TITLES AND/OR INDIVIDUAL AWARDS NOW THAT WOULD TAKE MORE RESEARCH. YOU CAN GET POINTS-REBOUNDS-ASSISTS FROM BASKETBALL REFERENCE.

This is a really tough one especially if you throw in 2 more centers. ONEAL and Olajuwon

RUSSEL 11 titles and was the teams couch too for a while couple of mvps etc....

Wilt most dominat player in the league when he first entered the league 50.4 ppg one season 100 pts in a game seven scoring titles, nba championships, rebound titles etc.....

Kareem alltime leading scorer, and chamionships

SHAQ lead different teams to the finals (ORL, LAL, and Mia) he lost the one in orl but he had only been in the league two years and that was in an era with teams being faster, dunking more, he won scoring titles and mvp awards and several final mvp awards

HAKeem lead houston to back to back titles 20,000 pts, 10,000 reb forget how many assists, 2000 plus steals and 3000 plus blocks he was a very all around player despite the fact he didnt play any form of basketball till he was brought to the US to U of Houston

I Dont really know who is the best i know of current era its shaq, the 90s was hakeem, the 80s was kareem, 70s was wilt and 60s was russell

and if you want to go back to the 40s throw in Goerge Mikan the leagues first dominant center that no one seems to remember has his scoring titles and mvp awards and championships too

all i have to saw is contact the Los Angeles Lakers and ask them to pick since 4 of the six i just mentioned played for them.....lol

That's hard to say because Wilt Chamberlain scored 100 pts. in one game, never fouled out and they changed the size of the lane because of Wilt Chamberlain.
Bill Russel won 11 NBA Championships and coached and played at the same time.
Kareem-Abdul-Jabbar was the all time leading scorer, 6 time MVP and 6 NBA championships and he did play until he was over 40 years old.
So that's harder than the Chinese alphabet to figure out! LOL!
But if I have to pick one it would be Kareem.

Kareem played when basketball evolved and was a far more competitive sport which makes it almost impossible to argue about the other 2! Russel was awesome but did not even have the size that NBA centers would later have. He also was surrounded by one of the great all-time teams. Russel did not dominate like Chamberlain even though he won as many championships as he did. Yes Kareem did play more years than the other two. But Karrem was at the top of his game far longer and accomplised far more than any NBA player center who has ever played the game. I grew up in the 80's and Kareem was still dominating the league and one of it's best players. People were always trying to compare players to Wilt and Russel who were not even as close to accomplishing what those two did. I don't remember anyone ever trying to compare anyone to Kareem. It would be out of your mind crazy. I can't believe that Kareem did what he did as a pot-head also. I don't think there will ever be another pot-head or player who will ever do what Kareem did and for as many years as he did it. His prime lasted longer than any other player in the game. Kareem had as many weapons as the other 2 and dominated forever in his career. To answer your question I would not bring up any other centers in the question except for Hakeem who would have blown away everybody if he had played in those days. But remember Kareem played in the Olajuwan era also. But Olajuwan could have probably done more than Russel or Chamberlain had we had been around back then.

Wilt Chaimberlain is the best. He has all the records. He is the highest scorer of all time and he also scored a 100 points in one game. He one championships in phily with no supporting casts. The other two playeres you mentiones where always surrounded by players as good as them if not better.

There was someone you didn't mention. His name is Oscar Robertson. The only man in NBA history to average a triple double for an entire year. He barely missed averaging a triple double 4 other times in his career. Nobody will ever come close to doing what he did.

Wilt Chamberlin

I think that you have to go with Russell just because of he changed the game in both college and Pros (rules) Also because he dominated wilt just about every time they played. B.Russell 13 total 11 pros & 2 in college. Wilt C 1 pros&1college. = 13 to 2 enough said!

Chamberlain score 100 points in a single game, and average 50 points per game in a single season, no one ever will beat these records, he is simply the best of all time.
