The other day I met the famous Italian soccer player Cassano here in Dubai. When I came over to ask him if I could get an autograph or a picture with him he just ignored me and i was shoved off by his body guard. What did I do wrong?

Some celebrities have lost the difference between fans and paparazzi. I heard Johnny Depp is VERY NICE about giving autographs...

Here's what you're looking for:

To successfully approach a celebrity athlete and get an autograph, you've got to play it cool.
Instructions

STEP 1: Get a pen and a piece of paper.

STEP 2: Approach the celebrity at an appropriate time (not while he's eating, feeding his kids or smooching his wife).

STEP 3: Be as quiet as you can. If you talk loudly and attract a lot of attention from other people in the vicinity, the celebrity is more likely to say no.

STEP 4: Keep it short and simple. For example: "Hi Celebrity. I'm a big fan of yours. Would you mind signing this to Edward? Thanks. Have a good evening."

Tips & Warnings

Be nonthreatening. You know the celebrity, but she doesn't know you, so make sure you're not coming off as scary.

Remember that most celebrities don't mind signing one or two autographs, but they don't want to have to sit and sign 100 to 200. So when you spot a celebrity, don't scream out, "Oh my God! There's so-and-so!" Be cool about it, especially if the celebrity is out with the kids. And don't try to touch or talk to the children - that can bring out the parental instinct in a big way.
Some celebrities simply do not like to be bothered (or, in some cases, are just egotistical jerks), so no matter how nice, quiet and nonthreatening you are, they may still say no.

You probably did nothing wrong, fans make these guys celebrities. It depends on what the celebrity is doing when you go up to him/her. Usually if they are eating or with their family, most tend to get a bit upset if they are disrupted. Most celebrities are gracious to their fans if you know their name (I've seen people run up to celebrities thinking they were a different celebrity), and approach them at the right time. Better luck next time....

Bu there are some who are very nice and will sign .
some even bring copies of their pictures/photos just to sign for
the fans.

Break in his hotel room through the window, tackle him, start screaming like a girl, and don't forget to tell him how much you "idiolize" him. I'm sure he would give you his autograph then.

sometimes when celebs are out they usually don't want to bothered by adoring fans. maybe you didn't do anything wrong. maybe he was in a bad mood. just remember you don't always have to go up to a famous person when you see them.
