The womb is in the middle. The egg attaches where it can, and the baby sits wherever it wants.

Unless there is some kind of uterine abnormality, the baby will grow in the uterus, in the middle of the abdomen. The umbilical cord can attach anywhere in the uterus, but the baby can move around when it's large enough (but not so big that it's cramped) and may seem like it's on one side or the other.

MY uterus is still in the middle of my body, but the baby moves a lot, sometimes she's visibly (I can see it because there's a little more of a bulge) sitting on side or the other. She also varies her position vertically and from front to back.
It's true that the egg will attach where ever it can inside the uterus, but the uterus itself remains centered, and once the umbilical cord is long enough for the baby to move around, it takes lots of chances to do so.

Babies grow in the uterus which is between the hips and lower than your belly-button. Basically in the middle.
