I am going to a black tie optional event and then to a house party. I know what dress, jacket and shoes i will be wearing but was just unsure about wether or not to wear black leggings undernearth or just plain stockings. It is a knee length black dress with like cream and brown flowers on it. It looks good with the leggings but i am having second thoughts about it.

You should go with plain stockings. They will enlongate your legs, unlike leggins that make legs look shorter. With some nice platform heels and you're ready to go.

Leggings are sportswear, and you are going to a dressy affair. Find the sheerest black stockings you can find and wear them with some great pumps. That is the classiest thing to do. If you wear expensive stockings they are knock outs, not just plain. Leggings are just plain tights without feet, very casual and no big deal to look at. Go for the sophisticated look, and if you want to be daring, do lace top thigh-highs and not pantyhose.

Leggins often give you a more HOT appearance. IF you want to look good wear them. SImple as that.
