I do not know for sure, but the break-up of the super Continent, Pangaea, may be what you are looking for. Both Jurassic and Cretaceous have plenty of sites listed, when put into your address bar.

one is that a coment or meter crashed into the earth and killed some.But the inpact sent dust into the air and bloked sun light and made pats die,then made the earth unliveuble for eny life.
