of course yours wont be that bad if you're only doing about 5 classes a week or something, but as you can see it takes a toll on you. but even if they are ugly bare foot they are really strong for pointe.

Starting en pointe is a level of commitment that assumes you are willing to go through some pain to achieve your goal. When you first start en pointe, your feet will need to toughen up. You will get blisters in order to achieve callouses. While you are in class, if a blister breaks and then continues to rub it will bleed. So in answer to your question, yes you will have blisters and bloody feet. After working en pointe for some time the blisters and bleeding will diminish greatly. You will have built up callouses which will protect your feet from more blisters. Dancers know that this is just apart of the sacrifice for their art.

Some of the great Russian Dancers who have danced since they were in Kindergarten (preschool) have feet that show just how much point-work and hard work there feet did over the years. the one who defected and he lived in Paris Baryshnikov or Nurioff (sorry about the spelling) his feet where a sight to behold by all accounts. but remember nothing worth having is achieved without some pain and a lot of practice and hard work. most of all have fun.

They certainly can, especially if you don't have the right pointe shoe for you, and if the fit isn't great.
Be sure to use toe pads (there are different kinds). They also have rubbery blister covers which help!
Use the elastic ribbons (the elastic goes in the back). This helps tendonitis.
Usually the girls who are successful on point are the girls who love pointe. The girls who don't love ballet and pointe tend to quit pointe when they start getting pain.
Pointe shoes must be broken in. Until you break them in, they will not feel the least bit comfortable.
Good luck!

No they don't. Unless you get a size that is too small for your foot. Your toes aren't suppose to go all the way into the point of the shoe. That's why I get one size larger than my own shoe size when i buy pointy shoes. For example I wear a size 9 so in pointy shoes I would get a 10. If you wear 4 inch heels with a pointy toe for 5 hours, that may cause you to get blisters!

They are definitely NOT good for your feet. Anything that smashes your feet into an unnatural shape can cause bunions, corns, blisters & after a time it will misshape your feet. Just like high heels are now good for your feet, legs, hips & back. When you are not in a natural position & walking natural it throws your whole body off....
