You can't delete it. A large part of the programming with windows is configured to run with the explorer, removing it would cause many errors, if in fact it could be removed. I use FireFox and it is a great browser. Still, that blue E sits on the desktop. Right click the blue e and go into properties to dump temp files and cookies at least once a week. It fills up with cookies and files even if you never use the explorer. So don't forget to dump the temp files from the e once a week. Like I said, the safe way to do it without opening the e is to right click and hit properties. This way you can dump all the extra files and cookies without ever opening that explorer. Viruses still embed themselves in the explorer and it waits there until you open it again, so keep it clean. Good luck.

Leave it. Some forms won't work without it. I know that I have to do my health insurance dealings on IE6 because it won't load with Mozilla.

No need to uninstall IE. You can keep them both. Nothing bad will happen believe me. And its better off to keep IE as well because sometimes some webservices (video streaming etc) sometimes are only compatible with IE.
But you made a wise decision in switching to firefox. Its much faster and better than IE.

You can't completely delete Internet Explorer from your computer, you will just be able to uninstall Internet Explorer 6 but will be left with the previous Internet Explorer.
And just leave Internet Explorer 6 because when you do need to use it e.g. Windows Update you want to use the latest most secure version..... :)

the 2 can co-exist quite happily side-by-side.
in fact you can use both at the same time, if you felt the need
(firefox has tabbed browsing, so you shouldn't need to, anyway)
leave it. you might (rarely) find the odd site which works better with IE. I only know one example of that... http://www.pcpitstop.com ... but I am sure there may be one or two others out there

I wouldn't recommend removing it, just use Firefox as your default browser

Leave it. You need it to connect to Microsoft's own site to get critical or optional updates (you can't always rely on automatic updates).
Added to which I don't think you can completely uninstall IE.
