There's a reason why there's a saying, "confession is good for the soul." I say that if you are feeling bad about it, confess and confess away. If it is something that is going to hurt someone else really badly, then this is something that you really need to think about and possibly need to keep to yourself and live with the guilt if it is going to hurt them more by confessing. Think about what your confession is going to solve and allow your heart to guide you. Good luck.

Confess, honesty is typically the best policy. Only if it concerns the person whom you are confessing to though, no need to tell random strangers you cheated on your wife or tell your husband that you lied to your parents. Make sure you confess to the right people.

If what you have done has wronged someone else, you should tell them (unless the telling will cause greater harm to others). If it is a personal wrong, and no-one was hurt, the question becomes more one of a spiritual nature and you have to look at it from whatever value system you hold to.

If you are talking about confessing to God, he already knows. But you should repent if you are a Christian. By repenting I mean change your ways. The only person who has the power to forgive is God.
