Why do married men cheat so much?

The reason that women are cheating more than they used to is because most (not all) people meet their partners in the work place, and women are in the workplace, not stuck in the kitchen anymore. Anyway, the reason people cheat is simple: Monogamy is difficult. A lot of people get married and take it for granted. They don't appreciate how difficult it is to be with one person year after year, day after day. Some people cheat b/c they're bored: Sex with the same person can get a little montonous, let's face it. No more mystery. No more butterflies. Some cheat b/c their spouse isn't as attractive as they used to be and they're no longer attracted to them. Some cheat b/c they resent their wife/husband. And some also cheat b/c their spouse no longer wants to have sex. Monogamy is not for the faint of heart.

This question has been asked about a million times. And I'll answer that again. Married men don't cheat as much as it's made out to be. Married women cheat just as much, but for whatever reason, everybody makes the man out to be the bad guy. It takes two to cheat.

Several reasons, let me name them.

Older married men cheat with younger women to feel younger and invigorated. Hence the phrase, there's no fool like an old fool. Another reason, it's exciting for cheaters, perhaps like falling in love all over again, or the other person they have cheated with makes them feel a different way that the wife never did. Some cheat because they can't have sex with their wife they way the can with someone else. Some married guys cheat because it is a game to them. Others claim "they need some strange" because what they have is old.

The same reason married women cheat so much - they are trying to fill a perceived need. Whether the need exists or not is besides the point, it is real to them. It could be an emotional need, it could be a physical need or even a desire to satisfy an addiction. There are a million reasons why it happens and will continue to happen. We don't all cheat, so don't generalize. Believe it or not, married women cheat too. Men don't have to face the consequence of possibly getting pregnant like women do, so that probably holds them back more than men.

Well...we have to say one thing before anything......Not all men are like that....even, i think that is the minority.
Men who do that, are insecure, and think that are less "men" (machos in spanish), if they dont cheat on their wives.
There are men, that think that if a woman smile...is already wanting them. So........they have to proof to themselves that still are able to "catch" a woman.
That are the same guys that dont like to become old, and when they are 60 u can see them with girls 25 or 30 years old.

I think women cheat just as much as men but we are smarter so we don't get caught as often so it makes men numbers higher, it's all the same people cheat when they are not happy! Hell I'm cheating now!

There are many reasons such as they aren't or think they aren't getting enough sex at home, they think their wives don't "understand" them, their wives don't excite them anymore because they've gained a few pounds by giving birth to THEIR children, they think the grass is greener on the other side - and the list goes on. But, it basically boils down to the fact that they're selfish and don't care about their wives or children and what will happen to them. Their ONLY self-centered concern is to make themselves feel better and happier and to hell with anyone who gets in the way. I found out 5 months ago that my husband of 25 years has been having an online-phone affair with a married whore from Benton, TN for almost 3 years. His excuse was that he thought I didn't love him anymore and we weren't having sex as often as he wanted. But, what he neglected to admit to himself was that we have a severely handicapped child whom I take care of 24/7/365 with very little help from him. Because he's basically a selfish SOB who's obviously clueless, it never occurred to him that the reason I didn't want to have sex with him was because he never showed me any attention or affection unless there was something in it for him physically. He didn't care about my need for rest and sleep - it was ALL about HIM! Not once in 16 years has he said to me that I should get some rest or go do something for myself and he'll take care of our child. No, in addition to taking care of our child, I have the added burden of waiting on him hand and foot when he gets home from work because he thinks I do little to nothing because I don't work outside of the home. So, the bottomline answer to your question of why married men cheat so much is most men are basically selfish SOBs who don't care about anyone else's needs, wants, or happiness - just their own!
