well being of her baby--She is aware of high blood pressure, what else can be expected. Is there any other women out there who have been overweight with a healthy baby?

I'm considered overweight, and I am perfectly healthy, and so is my baby (at 25 weeks.) Start eating healthier foods like fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables, chicken, etc. Avoid fatty foods and don't overdo it on the red meat. Get some exercise, like walking, but don't start any heavy exercise routines. However, also do not try to lose weight while pregnant, although you may naturally. And keep any and all of your doctor's appointments so that they can be sure you are doing well!

I have always been overweight to one degree or another my entire life. I have three healthy, happy, wonderful children! Yes if you start heavy you have to be careful about your diet and weight gain. Yes you have to make sure you take all the tests and follow all your doctor's guideline...just as a normal weight woman would. My third pregnancy I only gained about 12 pounds until the last 6 weeks or so. And make no mistake I was eating...but when I was pregnant I felt healthier than at any other time! I was taking the pre-natal vitamins, following a more balanced diet, getting good rest, and running around like crazy behind two other children, they kept me very active.

There is no reason why a otherwise healthy woman should worry about pregnancy if they are overweight unless the doctor tells them to. It would make sense to try to get your weight under control before getting pregnant if you can, but don't let it stop you if you really want to have a baby!

Yes and I didn't have high blood pressure or diabetes. I had two healthy babies one was 7 lb 18 1/2 inches and the other was 7 lb 7 oz 20 inches (not twins). I've lost weight since having my second and weigh less now then when I got pregnant with my first. Best of luck.

I am overweight, and I never had diabetes or high blood pressure with either of my two pregnancys. I had 2 very healthy babies, and they are now 3 & 5, and still the picture of perfect health.

She can still take of herself while she is pregnant by eating healthy and light exercise. I have seen many overweight women with healthy babies.

It would be just like any other pregnancy--She just needs to take care of herself, no salt, a little exercise--proper nutrition..correct vitamins--My sister was 300lbs and became pregnant--she delivered a healthy baby boy by c- section--she didn't gain much more weight..she had to avoid sugar , salt, and she had to see a high risk ob/gyn--best of luck to whomever!
