Stop cooking with Cheese.
No on the serious side The parents need to have a talk with the child and advise them that it is time to move on. Much as the parents love the child Parents need their time with each other alone too.
I hope that it all works out but talking and discussions sure are a great way to get to the issues at hand.

David, this is a hard one since you don't give any detail why the 30 year old is still living at home, like school or money problems. If any of these aren't the case then set a date and tell them how much you love them but you feel it is time to find their own way.

You just sit him/her down and tell them they have 3 months to find a place because you need your space now as an adult he shouldn't be still living at home like a child. If you were to stop doing laundry, tidying up, cooking & waking him in the mornings that will also help.
You have to be cruel to be kind I'm afraid, you could also mention the fact that no-one is going to want a relationship with a mummy's boy/girl.

If parents have 30 year olds still living at home, parents are doing too much for them, hence they will never leave the nest. Why should they? Double their rent at home. If they're not contributing, THAT's the problem......

Who needs an article! You give them a deadline by which to be moved out, if they're not out, you put them out. Time to grow up and stand on their own two feet!

time for a frank family discussion.
issue a timeline for the 30 year old to move out.
a month to find alternative accomodation would be reasonable.
