Naughty boys and Betty were totally rude. You do not come on here to answer a question like that or say "SEE A DOCTOR" I am very sure that the lady asking this question knows to see a doctor if the problem is cause for alarm. Your advice is not helpful and does not directly answer the question.
Turn off your caps and quit answering questions just to earn points.
Now to answer your question:
I have heard of brown period blood before and experienced it myself when I first got my period back after getting off the depo provera shot. It was merely old blood. The black blood thing makes me think that if you haven't had a normal period you're experiencing black blood from the build up.
You may be experiencing a slow shedding of your uterusf. If the blood loss is very slow, the blood that appears is often dark.
Also as you may already know if you believe this is a cause for alarm you can consult your doctor.

This can be normal and could be a problem. The black blood most likely is blood that has clotted more, and thus you are at the end of menses. So if the bleeding stops in a day or two - then no you probably have nothing to worry about. If it continues, then I would get checked by your doc.
Also, if you are experiencing pain above your normal period cramping - such as painful intercourse or pelvic pain, then I would advise seeing a doc to get checked out for this - since it could be more than just a usualy period.
And as others have said, if your period have been irregular or problematic, then you can ask your doc about being put on birth control pills. These can help relieve these types of periods.
GOOD LUCK!

i guess there could be alot of explanations, if you haven't had a proper period for 2 months or so, then the old blood will come out and look black simply due to the fact that it's old. Your periods may have stopped due to stress or if you've lost weight in the past few months. I guess if the bleeding continues, to put your mind at rest, i'd visit your doctor so you can get a definite answer.
hope it turns out well for you

Its old blood and if you have not had a period than your hormones may be messed up a liitle and so the blood is building up and eventually the lining gets so thick that some old blood id forced to come out.I would see your doctor to get your hormones checked, sometimes your given Provera and that helps to start your period. This can be normal but its best to get checked to be safe.

When your period is ending you can sometimes get a different color blood. Mine usually is a dark brown and what this is is old blood. Things such as stress can also do this to you. If your really concerned call and ask your doctor (or nurse)...they can help you out and that is what they are there for.

You need to seek medical attention. The dark blood may be from a bleed higher up in your body. Got to the doctor!
