My friend and her wife refer to the children as their children. In point of fact, they refuse to answer questions about who birthed which one because as they like to say "We are both their mothers" and it is no ones business. The girls know and sometimes they tell their friends, but my friend and her wife don't tell nosey people at the playground or teachers or salespeople unless necessary.

Why my girfriend and I have children, they will be our children. All of us will be a family together, from the moment of conception. I'm not going to be "helping my girlfriend" I will be raising my own child, despite the fact that he/she/it will not have come from my body.

We simply say these are our boys. To health professionals obviously, we explain who is the biological mother, but other than that we are both mom. Some people will ask if they are biologically yours or hers, etc. but for the most part no one bothers.

as long as you are both together, there is no sense in distinguishing between the two children. its like parents who adopt children and then have their own. you dont say this child is my biological and this child is my adopted. that shows that you two are not really in-sync with each other as life partners.

if you have them while you're a couple, they are your children.
if you had them before you're a couple, they are the children of the biological mother and step children of the other.

That depends on if you want your child to say “These are my two mommies.” Or “This is my mommy, and this is my mommy’s partner.”
