I´m married and have two sons. I've been offered a job with a major semicondutor company located in Boise. I currently live in Southern California. Should I stay or should I go?

I live in Boise (moved here 2 years ago) and love it!
Boise is a great small city with a lot of big city offerings. We have great restaurants, great wilderness nearby and a great small city feel. Business here is booming, and the area continues to grow.
If you're coming from Southern California, I think you'll love how affordable it is to live here... And, the winters are not that bad. We've had 2 days of snow so far this season, and both times, everything was pretty much melted the next day.
My husband and I love it here and think it is a great place to raise a family. There is a lot of opportunity here, and the community is friendly and close knit. I think you would probably love it here!

Ultimately, it's up to you, but I would recommend it anyway! Boise is a beautiful area, has all four seasons, is quite affordable to live in, has a major university (although I'm an Idaho fan, not Boise State!), lots of outdoor recreation, a pretty good school system, and a lot of people with high family values. It is very easy to fly in and out of Boise, so traveling or having visitors is not a problem. The only reason I don't live there is that my husband and I don't want to live near my father! :)

Good luck in your decision!

Boise isn't "bone chilling" as somebody stated. The summers are warm yet no longer humid, and the winters are chilly -- besides the undeniable fact that it is not a windy section like, say, Wyoming, South Dakota, or Kansas. you have 4 distinctive seasons. there are various Mormons scattered around in Idaho, besides the undeniable fact that it is not comparable to Salt Lake city. there are various different denominations and you will locate the Basques. lots of the celebs have offered land far north of Boise -- way up in top Idaho. Boise isn't a celebrity carry close-out, for the main section. The land looks something like Kansas acceptable *in* Boise and the prompt section, besides the undeniable fact that it would not take long to get to the mountains to ski. Idaho is a conservative state and it champions guy or woman rights. as an occasion, in case you homeschool, you answer to no person. Taxes are familiar. South Dakota is a much greater tax-friendly state, yet Idaho continues to be greater effective than many. fee of living is often decrease and housing is amazingly lifelike. Like California (I lived in SoCal as quickly as), you have the plains areas, wilderness areas, mountainous areas, forests, great horse ranches... and whilst there are actually not any seashores, you have diverse places for water relaxing. maximum individuals decide directly to spend their time tenting, looking, fishing, hiking, snowboarding, horseback using, boating, and different outdoorsy nature events; yet there are some amusement parks besides as night existence. in simple terms on lots smaller scale than California! I enjoyed California interior the 70's and early 80's, yet no longer something could desire to compel me to go lower back now. Idaho is a breath of sparkling air -- figuratively and actually! EDIT: T-Rex, Latter Day Saints are MORMONS, no longer Jehovah's Witnesses!
