I'm interested in applyinh to the engineering school and I was wondering if there are any current students or alumni out there who could tell me about their experience, special programs they participated in etc...I'd be happy to have any feedback from people who were not in the engineering school as well. thank you!!

I taught at Penn for three years and have nothing but good things to say about the school.

It deserves its ranking in the top five. It has an excellent engineering program. It also has great non-engineering programs -- like the number one undergraduate business school in the world.

My advice is always the same -- go to the best school that you can get into. Engineering is a strange field in some ways. The best state universities have programs that are as good or better than the best private universities. That is pretty rare. If you are good enough to get into Penn's engineering program, it is likely that you could get into a university that isn't quite as good as Penn overall -- but that has a better engineering program. This is something you ought to keep in mind when it is time to decide.
