I just got a laptop and i am not sure if i should keep turning it off when i dont use it. the first thing i do when i wake up is come on it, and then i turn it off for the day, then come back on at night, and turn it off when i go to bed. Should i just keep it on, but have me logged off during the day? or turn it off? and sometimes when i close it it turns it off after like 30 mins.

Well, unless you want to waste ridiculous amounts of electricity (which you have to pay for), turn it off when you don't use it for a couple of hours.

Laptops have a setting that if the cover is closed, it will shut down after a few minutes. But if you have changed the setting for it not to turn off and just go to stand by, that is not recommended. Because when the hard drive doesn't turn off for a long time, especially for a laptop, it will heat up and might damage the system. Shutting off the computer is highly recommended.
Note: also when you close the cover when the screen is still on, the molecules within the screen will be damaged, because wires that are connected to the screen are working, and when you close it, they are being stretched, damaging the wires, causing the molecules not to work in the future.

if u close the lead of a laptop it will shut down after few minutes. if u are away from the laptop for more than 30 minutes or 1 hour. i would recomended that u shut off, by doing this ur laptop will have more life.

Depends really on you. Then don't use a lot of power always turned on. If you want to always keep it on just put it on stand by uses less power and it is still on. Also if you have ppl in your home you don't want on it then I would turn it off. Really depends on you.

it's not ok to turn it on and off twice or more in one day. if you want to use it during a day it's better to log off,or may be stand by.

If you use your computer frequently there is nothing wrong with leaving it on but in sleep mode. It is really off until you move your mouse, then it "wakes up"
