I would say that if you don't plan on venturing very far it's perfectly fine, as long as your friend understands that they may have to take you to Labor and Delivery. Also, if you haven't seen your doctor about leacking amniotic fluid, you HAVE to do that.

I was dilated 1 cm for 6 weeks before i finally gave birth to a prefect baby boy. If you are feeling up to the date then by all means go. I'm sure you will not be going some where medical care is not to far away. Have fun. This may be your last hoo rah for a while. Live it up Doll.
As far as the amniotic fluid is concerned put a pad on. Your body will let you know when it is time. GOOD LUCK!!!

Not sure what kind of "Date" your talking about, and if your Doctor hasn't put you on Bedrest and your friend is Willing to be flexible, enjoy some time together that's easy going and maybe near a hospital. Come prepared if something happens " like bring your bag" and maybe you'll have more to celebrate with your friend than just a few moments away from the house.

Lady if you have children already then you know that children come when they get ready not when you tell them or make plans to let them come. Go on your date just be prepared for the unexpected like having the baby bag in the car. Not trying to be a smart ***. Remember that every pregnancy is different.

As long as you're staying nearby, meaning close to your hospital, then a date should be fine. But if you're leaking amniotic fluid, you should avoid having sex because that could cause bacteria to enter the amniotic sac. So dinner, movie, etc. fine..but no sex.

mari

The due date is just an estimating date, doctors alot 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after, the due date cannot be exactly figured out!
But as for your date with your "friend" go for it. I know women that have scrubbed their floors, have gone grocery shopping, whatever to kill time. keep active! you may be having the baby at any time!

If this is your 3rd child, you should know that it's not a whole lot of use to make plans that can't be broken or changed. Take it easy, listen to your doctor, and don't go booking yourself for appearances you're not guaranteed to make.

It might, it might not. Go ahead and make your plans, if you have to cancel, I'm sure the friends will understand. But I wouldn't lock yourself up the house just waiting and hoping for an early labor.

If I were you - save the dates until after the baby arrives.
Every birth is different - so this one may come at anytime or wait for a bit.
