Of course I would, although not now because I have enough kids already.
We choose mates who have features that we find desireable and mate accordingly. Assuming that a person is healthy genetically and has good self esteem, why not have a child that optimizes oneself?
There is little to no practical difference in having a cloned child of yourself and raising a child the traditional way.
My son is not a clone, but he resembles me in most ways. That said, despite our shared environment, diet, and culture, not to mention 50% DNA, he is distinct from me.
A clone would be no different. It would be raised in the twenty first century, rather than the previous one and have different siblings and education and opportunities. Same person but with completely different life experiences. There would be no way to predict whether they grew into an adult neo-con or a treehugging hippy!
Also, a clone would not necessarily grow into an adult that was an exact physical twin of the parent. Different nutrition in ueturo would alter the development of the unborn child. Recent expperiments with cloned cats demonstrated that although genetically identical, the cloned cat did not look very much like the "parent" at all!
As someone else already pointed out, no one can clone "you". You are unique, only a genetically identical copy can be made, but we are soo much more than our genes.
To the people who say no so vigorously...would you abandon a son or daughter because they resembled you too closely?
Of course not.
Get ready, our grandchildren will likely resemble our kids more than you think!

Many of the people answering this question seem to have a mistaken impression of what cloning is. I'm going to assume that you mean normal reproductive cloning, not somehow making a 'copy' of a person. If I wanted a baby and it only cost $500, I would definitely get cloned. It would be interesting to see how much of who I am came from genetics and how much from environment.

"You" cannot get cloned. You could only provide the cell from which a new person might be cloned. That new person might be identical to you biologically, but he/she would not be you. He/she would be entirely independent of you, and you would simply be the cell donor. That person would have been cloned, not you.

I hope it is never possible. It is one of the worst ideas i've ever heard of which proves that scientists arent as smart as thought to be. I would NEVER clone myself. This completely messes up our whole cycle of human life, D eath, and birth. BAD IDEA. God created life and should be the only one. Not a creation doing the creating!

Human Cloning heavily isn't legalized, a minimum of not interior the UN. even inspite of the shown fact that UN breakaway states would legalize it. yet for the sake of my time and your s, basically %. up a duplicate of homestead of the Scorpion.

no i would not, because if everyone could be cloned, then no one would truly be themselves... causes chaos in society. How could you know if the "clone" you were talking too was the real thing?

Personally, I would not. It has absolutely no benefit to me. Also, it raises too many questions with me about God. It opens a Pandora's box that should remain closed.

No, I wouldn't do it no matter what the cost - I don't need a twin version of me around.
