I have lime wire and have yet to get a virus. I have been using it for quite sometime now. I do know that if you down load certain stuff your can get viruses and that other things the police watch to see if you will take their scam and come arrest you. Lime wire in my opinion is not that great. Some of the songs are distorted and the movies are not always what you think that you are downloading. There is just no way to know

tell your friend to knock on wood when she says she hasn't gotten any viruses YET...it will happen.
You can have any program on, like anti-spy/spam, anti-virus, or any program that you think will keep you safe, but it's when you actually click "download" or "open", after getting a song from Limewire that opens up the viruses/worms. Your anti-virus program will let you know that you've got a virus, but by that time, the virus has already been opened and is released to your computer.
I'd be very careful when using those kinds of programs to get songs though. I thought it seemed like a good idea, until I tried to download some songs from Limewire and they were infected with viruses.
I don't think half the songs on there, old or new, sound like what they would if you were to buy the actual CD. You're just taking chances when you use those peer-to-peer sources! All of them are littered with junk, viruses and worms!
Just be careful! You never know what songs are infected until you download them and they're on your computer.

I've had it for a while now and i haven't gotten any viruses from it. It all depends on what you download from limewire how good the sources and everything are. Yeah you get the actual song and it sounds like something from a CD. It's not bad at all.

I been using it for about 2 years and I never had any problems. I have to say the songs there are most like the actual song. Once every100 songs you download are crap but you can delete it. I love limewire.

Of all the file-sharing programs, Limewire is one of the safest. It doesn't install and additional crap if you don't want it to, and has a pretty good user base. You get viruses from the files you download, not from the program itself. Any music you download via Limewire is pirated, and you get what you pay for. Audio files are only as good as the source and the skills of the person that ripped them.

The only problem I`ve had with Limewire is that I`ve only ever downloaded 3 Movies, quality perfect, but not the titles I downloaded. One turned out to be a full length Porno film. But then I am over 21

Okay! I'll admit it. I have it, and you know, the virus' are real, you may get one if you use it... but that's not the bad part. Limewire is a shared service and ILLEGAL in MOST COUNTRIES. They made it illegal because it does take money away from the song writters and movie makers and other stuff you download off there. So basicly, if someone like... I don't know, some famous singer or whatever goes broke and is now a hobo, this may be why.

A friend of mine had to have his computer cleaned up 4 times because his kids used limewire. I wouldn't go near it with a 10 foot pole!

Limewire is great, I have never had a problem with it. Just make sure to download files that have been downloaded multiple times and can be taken from multiple sources

been using it for over a year, same quality as cd. Just preview them before you let them complete the download, that will ensure your actually getting the song/video/program that your dowloading, it will also show you the volume it plays at (some are uploaded at a quiet volume and some are normal). Just to help ya out :)
