anytime u have a war, some company has to produce the bullets or whatever is needed..do any of you great intellectual liberals have another way of doing it
its nonsense--because the only thing that a liberal would agree to is a war where none of these companies could produce anything--therefore no war at all ever for any reason
and yes caveman--your propanda is wrong--you prove it
what is bush and co? he does have another job lil one

I think the argument is that the United States is spending billions of its own dollars (IE: taxpayer money) on funding the war in Iraq while companies who won their contracts through political connections are profiting from the war via the rebuilding effort.
As a self-described liberal, I'm much more worried about the cost of funding the war because this is doing much greater damage to our country by not permitting us to spend the money in other areas.
As Dwight D. Eisenhower (a Republican president) put it:
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children."
I guess that makes Ike a liberal by today's standards.

Aren't you quite the cherrypicking wordsmith. Appropiately defined as babbling nonsense--if you must say so yourself. I think there's a little bit of distinguishing that needs to done with the U.S. profiting lingo you seek to factualize. Ever heard the expression--peeing up a rope?

One day you will see the truth, poor lost soul.. but both is the correct answer.. some corporations and people are making a lot of money off of the war.. but as a whole the American people are being raped by the cost of the war.. it's not our fault if you lack the ability to comprehend this.

i think what people mean is that certain people are profiting from the war (like the carlyle group, which the bush family is on of the biggest investors in) while the bill for the war is being paid by tax payers
