I got a message saying my internet connection was slow because of a script running. How do you find out what scripts are running.? Also is there some software I could use which displays what scripts are running and advises on which one's to disable. Many thanks.

How to disable script and runtime errors
You can configure Internet Explorer to ignore these script and runtime errors. Please follow this step-by-step guide:

1. Open Internet Explorer.

2. Click on Tools, then on Internet Options.

3. Click on the Advanced tab.

4. Look for the "Disable script debugging" line and put a check mark in the box.

5. Now look for the "Display a notification about every script error" line and remove the check mark in the box.

Still getting script errors?

If you still get the script or runtime error messages after disabling them in Internet Explorer, the problem might be that you have some unwanted spyware or adware installed on your computer.

A script is the actual computer code that makes up the web page you are looking at. Go to tools Top right hand corner) click.
Go to bottom, Internet options, click. Form opens. Go to right hand side tab (advanced) Be careful what you do in the advanced section. You will see various options to do with scripts.I have got my notification of script errors un ticked.
You will have to decide what you do in this area, There is a hell of a lot in this box as you will see when you try the up and down arrows. You can try things if you like, and go back and reverse what you have done. Please do not blame me if something does go wrong! This is purely info for you to try. Good luck!!

Scripts are small, self-contained programs that a web browser can run to make the page do what the author intended. They can be good or bad, depending upon the author. Turning off the script error messages does not turn off the scripts. To turn off the scripts, you need to disable Javascript. Without knowing what browser you have, I can't give specific instructions, but that is what you are looking for.
