She married him knowing she was becoming a bigamist. She knew they weren't legally married. She has no claim. The kid should get his estate, but she, as the kid's guardian, should have an appropriate amount. Did she annul her prior marriage to the first guy or her marriage to James Brown? If she annulled the marriage to James Brown, she is still married to her prior husband. In some states, the husband is legally the father of the baby whether he is actually the biological father or not.

I think that his money should go to his children. Joanne w is right. If she had her child while married to another man that man is the father of the child not James Brown. If James Brown wanted to leave his money to her he would have. He had all his senses about him and he was still performing. If he didn't care enough to make sure she was taken care of them oh well. She should have taken care of her business. How can you not know you are married. It just sounds to me that she was trying to hitch on to his wagon before he died. He didn't remarry her for a reason. Probably because she was acting shady. Well he is gone and she is not his wife so she should move on and stop trying to gain 5 minutes of fame. They are keeping her off his estate for a reason. I am tired of seeing her alcoholic looking sad self on TV - she looks like a bum and sounds like a idiot.
God don't like ugly and thats why she should get a big fat zero for trying to be slick!!

Anybody that put up with James Brown should get his money but it really isn't a lot. James Brown has been financially strapped for years. That is why he performs in 300-500 seat night clubs and had to work up until and beyond his death. I love the man but his life was truly a living hell.

I think the Godfather left his house in order. By that I mean his will should speak for him, when we leave thing's written down that's what it is. I have three son's and when my time in this world is up I hope and pray that my wishes are carried out. What a person has for you is for you. If she has anything coming, then that's what she should get. Should the wife take everything? or Should the children take all? Well America!

Not if she's not legally his wife. However, I think she should get part of his money since she has a 5 year old son with him. The whole situation is strange and is starting to get ugly fast. Stay tuned.

No she shouldn't. They have a 5 year old son, I think the money should be set up in a trust fund for him. He also has other children who are grown. I think they should receive the rest of the money.

No, because he has a lot of kids they should get the bulk of his money, but I do believe she should get something. I don't think he would have wanted her to be left with nothing, they were together until the day he died despite their problems and they have a five year-old child together.

Technically she CANNOT get his money because they were not, in fact, legally married. They had lived together for so long, though, it was considered a "common law" marriage. It was for these reasons she was locked out of their estate after his death. His attorney locked her out because she was not his legal wife.
