I have some tattoos. There not always visible, but for my birthday I really want a large one on my back that would be seen if I wear a tank top. My oldest likes them because they are girly but i wonder if I am leading her toward getting her own in the future? My parents didn't have any I was the first.

I have 2 and dont think them trashy at all ok if you have the common variety on your upper arm they can be a bit off putting but as far as your daughter is concerned as long as she asall the facts that they are there for life and the dangers of going to a back street artist etc etc but another way of looking at it is a tatto when designed by oneself can be a beautiful piece of art that has some meaning to the wearer it would also be hypocritical for you to deny your daughter a tattoo when she is say 2 and able to make a logical decision why not when the position presents itself discuss where and what she wants tell her their may be situation where she will need it to be hidden for job prospects for a special day ie wedding then when all is said and done offer to go with her if she wants you too
Also advise against boyfriends names these are a daggy thing especially when you split and find someone new

♥ Tattoos are NOT trashy as someone else said. My mom has tattoos and I have no intention of getting any. So what if your daughter gets tattoos when she's older? She's gonna do what she wants when she gets a certain age anyways. Tattoos aren't bad. Would you rather her have a couple tattoos or do drugs? If tattoos are the worst thing that your daughter gets when she grows up then you're setting a FINE example for your daughter. My mom has tattoos and I don't ever want a tattoo. My sister wants a tattoo when she gets older but that doesn't mean she's gonna be a bad person. Get all the tattoos you want and be a good mom. As long as you're a good mom you have nothing to worry about. ♥

Nope, not a bad example....instead think of it as you are teaching your daughter to be independant and creative. I only have one and my daughter loves it. As long as they are tasteful, you should share this experience with her and when it's time for her, she can decide if she wants to get a tattoo or not. Just because you have one will not automatically mean she will also. It's all about being an individual.

just do what you are doing. Look at the people around you that are raising their kids by what they say is "right". Some of the kids are abused or their parents don't pay attention to them, or they just do drugs. You are a better parent than half of my friends had, just because you like to listen to a little lamb of god or five finger death punch doesn't mean you are a bad parent, and by what she is saying is that people who do go to church on a weekly basis are great parent, which is not necessarily true. Well if you didn't want to read me ranting, what i basically said was parent the way you feel is best for your child, and just because you don't lead the lifestyle that other people do doesn't mean you are a bad parent.

Make sure your daughter understands that tattoos are for the most part permanent and only come off with expensive and painful surgery. So you could use the experience as a teaching tool.

I dont think anything is wrong with tattoo's, I have 2 of them and they are tasteful and lovely. I let my step daughter watch me get one, and she decided from that moment that she NEVER wanted one. Good luck

will it be a problem if your daughter wants a tattoo?usually if the parent does something and approves of it the child will feel it's OK to do so what's the big deal?

My fiance has two tats. Her daughters have also gotten into body art and her youngest has two now also. But her eldest daughter now has four and one is way to big. Her and her boyfriend have gotten lyrics to one of their favourite songs on their back and to me it is way too big and looks awful. I tried to tell her that it would be with her for eternity but she knows best. As long as your daughters do not want to follow your lead when they are to young then it is alright. But be aware that when they do something, whether it be a tat or something else that is different, they will be pointing the finger at you and saying "but you have them tattoos" etc. My fiance knows my feelings on body art on ladies and although I have three myself I do not find them attractive on women. They may look very nice when people are young but when they age they will not be so nice looking then.

Besides being nasty and dirty, expensive and dangerious just what do you hope to obtain in getting a tatoo.
Ask yuor daughte rto turn her hack to you with the area you would tatoo exposed to you. Imagine that your girl wiht a filthy looking tatoo on her body. That could be you.
With all of the people now paying larger sums to have them removed, getting sick or hepertiitis or aids from needles these tatoo cons use why would you even want to.

A guy at work with hughes pider webs on his arms said he got them as an investiment. Do yuo know of anyone whould wishes to invest in tatoos on someone else?

Be smart buy something your daughte rwould be proud of like a savings bind for her education. It will be eventually double in value. Call a tatoo con and ask him//her how much they will pay for yours.
